What Causes Hormone Imbalance

A decrease in hormones can result from several factors. Aging is a primary cause, as hormone production naturally declines over time, especially during menopause in women and andropause in men. Chronic stress can disrupt hormone balance by overloading the adrenal glands and affecting cortisol, thyroid, and sex hormone levels. Poor nutrition and nutrient deficiencies (such as vitamin D, zinc, and healthy fats) impair the body’s ability to produce hormones. Lack of sleep, obesity, and sedentary lifestyle also negatively impact hormone regulation.
